Ranch Sorting
What is Ranch Sorting? Ranch Sorting is a relatively new sport to to the equine world that matches rider and horse ability against cattle. Basically, you have 2 riders on horse back one one side of a pen, and 10 numbered cattle on the other side. The cattle are numbered from 0-9 and must be sorted out in order and taken to the other side of the pen.

The pens are configured in a figure 8 pattern with a 12-14' opening between the two that serves as the gate.  It is a timed event and riders are typically given 60 seconds to get as many cattle out, in order, as possible.

This sport has proven fun for riders of all abilities. With varying levels of competition, you can compete or practice on just about any type of horse.

CPH Arena offers Ranch Sorting practice on every Wednesday starting at 7:00 pm and the last riders are finishing up around 9:30. If it is something you are interested in feel free to come and watch a practice or even better, bring a horse and give it a try.....You will love it.....

Here at CPH we have two options when it comes to competing at Ranch Sorting. We offer our own CPH Fall Series where riders can compete for cash and prizes once a month, and qualify for our finals which will take place in the middle of May. Or we offer one RSNC (Ranch Sorting National Championship) Event a month. These shows you can compete for money as well as qualify for their National Finals in July. For more information on RSNC please check out their website.....RSNC  CPH Arena will host the Oklahoma State Championships for RSNC this year, Dec. 31st and Jan. 1st.
